Okay so I am a young guy. I'm interested in games development, but big companies don't really interest me. I am a newb and don't hope to make money with my games, at least not for ages, so I want to work a blue collar job in the meantime. The thing is with all the new stuff out, VR etc, will the market for indie games exist for long? Is there any point to making them when large companies can make such impressive products with better technology? Games are becoming more complicated and I assume it's harder for the average person to learn enough to make games that people will play, just like solo mathematicians trying to prove theorems which take years of university study to understand.
