    Germany vs Aus.

Germany had some ridiculous passing skills, but then again it was australia, not austria.
Podolski shouldn't have even scored, the ref was a bad one.

    Italy vs Paraguay

Both teams played horrible in my opinion. Paraguay was given a free kick despite the hand ball, and italy once again weaseled their way through with a cheap corner kick goal.
I'm really disappointed in italian roster this year, hopefully they can bullsh*t their way through!

I might stop watching because I cannot take these traditional referee rules.

    Amazing!!!

Uruguay hadn't won a world cup match since 1990, and hadn't won by 3 goals since 1954! Nobody here can believe what just happened :D

Forlan was the man, really excellent player lately. However, the hosts just cant cut it, unfortunately. Surely theyre going out now.

Congratulations to Uruguay, but it's sad when the host nation doesn't make it past the group stage. :( Oh well... hope springs eternal for some other African countries, anyway, so the locals will probably be able to cheer for their continent in the round of 16, even if not for their actual country.

Hope Korea pulls off a miracle against Argentina tomorrow... it'd be nice if both Korea and Nigeria could get through, but Argentina has to lose a game if that's going to happen.

They did. Deservedly so. I had even predicted a 0-2 score for the France-Mexico match to Jack Norton and it turned out to be right on the money.

    Best regards,
    Emmanuel

I thought you exaggerated a bit but I was sure about France going home early too. We'll see if sunday Italy goes back home too, even if we have much weaker opponents so we might make through the first round at least :D

This is for me the worst World Cup so far... no, not that the matches are boring, but because I was able to see only one match so far. It's either your game or their game ;-)

I wouldn't call this football anymore, where a player gets a yellow and even a red card for touching the opponent a little bit. Won't be long and it will be forbidden hit the ball to hard. Makes me quite angry to see a game like this.
But stil, congrats for Serbia and red card for the referee.

Great comeback USA. Ref got it wrong on the disallowed goal, it looks like.

I don't understand it either. The South African goalkeeper got an immediate red card because he was the 'final man' when he made the foul. I always thought a red card was reserved for e.g. punching a guy in the face.

Haha then you need to re-read the rules :D that is correct. The rule is that if is the last man between the attacker and the goal, MUST be red.
Then of course in several cases the referee gives only a yellow, but the rule is clear.

USA really deserved to win today...about Germany, only the 2nd yellow to Klose was a bit gratuitous, but the rest was just applying the rules. Also they missed a penalty so they should blame themselves ;)

I think that Germany will still get until semi-finals though and maybe win the cup.

I predicted 0-4 myself. I have been following mexico for 2-3 world cups, they have a great team.

@Jack Norton: Oh it's not about winning or loosing. The german team had enough chances to win, only if they miss the goal so often it's their own fault. But this WC (World-Cup) is getting to colorfull imho. Red cards should only be for really bad, ugly and dangerous moves.

About Germany as cup winners, hhmmm, I'd like it,but Argentina is getting better and better and I can't believe Spain will not be able to redress themselves.

    We will see...

PS: Oh dear England, what's up? I know you can play, but why don't you?
