Hmmmph... OK now I think I'll look for alternatives when I'll release my game.

I assumed dormant means not logging in and doing something, it goes to show if they don't actual say what they mean by it. I've already been charged $5, there's only $7 left in there so we'll see what they mean by dormant. Regardless, they can shove it. :) Plenty of better services out there.

$50? WTF! I can't believe it. Well I may have to close it down too, or I guess try to make some actual affiliate sales.

Does anyone know if the fee is *just* for affiliate accounts, or also for vendor accounts too?

I have no affiliates, so normal vendor account also suffer.

Jeez that is real bad. I'd hate too loose the small amount of revenue I've made from sales via these lame charges.

You can just pay $5 to collect any outstanding that you're owed from plimus. I wouldn't touch plimus personally.

$50 is just amusing. You would have to actually have a mental impairment to remain with plimus at this point.

Or maybe have a big site that would be very tedious to transfer even if you wanted it...

I moved over BMT but kept using Plimus at same time as backup vendor until 2008. I had about 12-15 games available for PC/Mac at those times (so in practice 30 products!), I think that qualify already as "big site", but I couldn't be happier to have made the move. I really wanted to support Plimus, but after I had all my requests ignored completely or rejected with silly excuses, I said "OK then, you don't want my business". Fun because my income basically tripled from 2008 to today.

It's true they should be more flexible with requests imo. Yet I doubt you tripling your income has much to do with switching to BMT...

No, but is just to say that they should have kept me :) but they also let Positech and Wadjet Eye run away, so probably they don't need the money.

Indeed, I think they have a huge amount of sellers all over the Net. We don't weight much next to that lol

I like Plimus, but I agree, they do seem to be spiraling down. :(

I think they are trying to combat the affiliate zombies. Not sure if anyone has had this problem, but over the last 2 years, I get a ridiculous amount of affiliate requests from bogus vendors. It seems someone published a "get rich quick" book that discusses how to make "millions" in affiliate sales on Plimus and about a million get-rich-quick people bought the book and are trying to apply the technique. Ugh!

Oh man, I lost count of how many bogus affiliation requests I got over Plimus. I think you are of the few legit affiliates I have, Amanda!

I just accept all the affiliate requests which I guess are bogus. What's the problem with them?

I think I heard that once a lot of bogus sales were made and later on had to be cancelled. I'd rather avoid having to deal with this kind of event. I do get plenty of bogus affiliates myself, it's quite tedious.

Not to beat a dead horse but Plimus lost me as an affiliate today after pulling the same BS. Shame, I'm dropping two games I like to have on my site.
