    Afternoon everyone,

Just posting on this forum as it seems to be thriving with like minded indie developers!

My name is Dean, I'm 24 just graduated from my second degree at university.
February last year I created a game studio, Greenlight Games. It's formed of mostly students/graduates and we're about to complete venture funding allowing us to start officially as a company. Right now we're in the 'Young Business Startup' competition and have made it to the final 5, we find out if we've won next month! This has a price worth of £50,000.

Our studio is located at 6 Mitre Passage, Greenwich, United Kingdom. Screenshot below:

Our website is up & running, we post Gaming News and get around 4,000 views a month:

In regards to game or progress, there is a project we're working on called GOMBIES:
    http://www.gombies.co.uk
GOMBIES is a 3 player, online co-op game that will be released for PC & Xbox One, we've entered the Xbox ID programme and are in the final stages where Xbox have requested a Demo of the game.
We hope to get the Alpha Demo finished before Christmas this year.

That's all I suppose! I just wanted to say hi and drop our details here. Hoping to network with other developers out there!

    Thanks,
    Dean.

Hi and welcome to the forums! You're game looks pretty cool. Just as a head's up, you may run into trademark issues with the name of your company. Valve has trademarked STEAM GREENLIGHT:
    http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4805:5jr5i6.4.22

Which is not exactly the same as Greenlight Games of course, but my guess is that the use of the term Greenlight would open a can of worms and the fact that you are both in the same realm (games), would be enough cause for a valid suit. Not saying that this will happen, but its the first thing that came to mind when I saw the name.

You have to ask yourself, do you hope to capitalize on people searching for Greenlight looking for Steam's service and finding your site instead?

    Hello Bruno!

Yes, this is something that has come up a lot.
Sadly I started the company before they introduced Steam Greenlight, but I'm seeing a lot of rumours they're cancelling the service. It's a matter of seeing what happens there from the looks of it. I don't know if it makes any difference, but we're from the UK whilst that TM was registered in the US. Don't know where we stand there.
Also that is our registered company name with companies house.

Regarding the search, Greenlight Games comes up No.1 in search. But I'd imagine we will have issues in regards to PR in the future..yes.
Something we will have to fight against!

Thank you for the welcome, hope to share some interesting stuff here.

Cool stuff! But one thing I noticed about your logo, is you should NEVER have gradients in your logo. This advice was given to me by my dad, Expert Graphic Designer and Senior Web Developer. What kind of rooms are in your office?
