Welcome to the Game Development and Technical forum.

Here we discuss technical related aspects of game development such as Programming, Art, Design, Music, Sound Effects, Web Development, Porting, Localization and Hardware.

    1. Do not post requests for tutorials, how to use API/DirectX/OpenGL or any other package, help with your code or how to code it - These subjects are well covered by other forums such as Gamedev.net and Ludumdare. We do however discuss where and when to use these programming methods, packages and tools.

    2. Before posting: Check whether your post fits the subject guidelines as described above and use the forum search option to check whether this subject had been discussed before. Posting here means you want to discuss a technical aspect of game development or to show interest in one you aren't familiar with. Write a meaningful title and be descriptive about what you want to discuss and what kind of replies you expect to receive.

Posts in this forum are intended to disucss the technical aspects of game development. Typically this involves discussion of the appropraite programming platfom to meet a games requirements, supporting old hardware, cross platform game development, the pros and cons of various game development technologies, etc.

    3. Replying to a post means you have something to contribute to the discussion: Sharing your experience or knowledge on the subject, Expressing your opinion or (honest) criticism, asking for more information or sharing your views on the topic.
