I got some games on download.com
1.Will i be charged automatically when the annual fee is due or will i be asked for renewal? I probably won't renew all of my listing.
2.Wouldn't it be better not to renew and wait until the listing is taken off their site. Then submit it again for $79 and get it on the front page once more.

    1)
I don't think you will be charged automatically. When the fee is due (or a couple of days after) you will get a clickable renewal link next to your game.

    2)
That would probably not be better. It will just get a 'hidden' status until you pay and the chance of getting on the front page will most likely not increase.

Either way, your game will still be listed under 'new files' every time you update it (not just every year), with a slight chance of being picked for front page coverage.

I signed up my listings back in the 'pay per update' days and now all of my titles seem to remain there and I've not been asked to renew (not that I would, I thik the site is a waste of money). I'm wondering now if I'm in a free zone.

Take a look at your upload.com control panel.
There you can see the expiration day of your products.
